I just finished putting Peyton to bed. The whole process lasted about 20 minutes. It took all of ten seconds for him to realize he was sleepy enough to rest his head on my shoulder, and then roughly another four minutes for him to fall completely asleep. How did it take me 20 minutes total then, you ask? Because I just had to keep holding him, sleeping in my arms. There's nothing like a sleeping child.

I, unknowingly, created separate repertoires for each child, so they each had lullabies that "belonged" to them.

For Brooklyn it was "La La Lu" from The Lady and the Tramp, "I Will" and "I've Just Seen a Face" by The Beatles. Also, when she got older, every song from every princess movie ever made.

For Peyton, it's "Baby Mine" from Dumbo, "Fix You" by Coldplay, "Golden Slumbers" by The Beatles, and "To Make You Feel My Love", by Bob Dylan. I mean, really, there is nothing more perfect to sing to your baby than, "There ain't nothing that I wouldn't do/Go to the ends of the Earth for you/Make you happy, make your dreams come true/To make you feel my love".

Listen to it sung by Adele. Heavenly.

So, what are your favorite songs to sing your kids at bedtime?
